Rainbow Creek at Midnight
It’s hard to believe a scene this serene and perfect scene lies less than a quarter mile from Alaska’s busiest highway. But bushwacking through prickly Devil’s Club while wading up a creek full of slippery rocks made for no easy entrance. It didn’t help that I was lugging 60 pounds of camera gear–and the creek banks were so steep I could barely find a flat spot to set it down. After hours of searching, I found my spot. It was just before midnight in early July. The legs of my tripod were under a foot of rushing water for this 2-minute exposure.
